Easter Golf Holidays
Easter golf holidays in the sunshine. Make the most of the long weekend with a golf break somewhere warm over Easter.
Why Choose an Easter Golf Holiday?
Easter is one of the best windows in the calendar for a golf trip. You’ve got a long weekend built in without using annual leave, the clocks have just gone forward, and the weather in southern Europe and North Africa is about as good as it gets for golf. It’s that time of year where everything lines up. You’re itching to play after the winter, the courses are in prime condition, and a few days in the sunshine feels like exactly what you need. Whether you stretch it to a full week or keep it to a sharp four night break, Easter is a brilliant time to get away.
The long weekend over Easter Friday to Monday gives you a natural four day break, and if you can take a couple of extra days either side, you’ve got the best part of a week without burning through too much annual leave. That makes it one of the most popular booking windows of the year for golf travel, which means availability at the best resorts and courses can go quickly. If Easter is on your radar, it pays to book early. The golfers who get the best trips are usually the ones who commit by January or February rather than leaving it until March when the options start to narrow.
Weather is one of the big draws at Easter. In most of the popular golf destinations, you’re looking at temperatures in the low to mid twenties, sunshine for most of the day, and very little rain. It’s warm enough to play comfortably in a polo shirt but not so hot that you’re flagging on the back nine. For British golfers who have spent the winter dodging puddles and temporary greens, it’s a proper reset. Three or four rounds in those conditions and you come home with your swing in much better shape than when you left.
Where to Go Over Easter
The Algarve is one of the most popular Easter golf destinations and it’s easy to see why. By April the temperatures are consistently warm, the courses are lush and green from the winter rain, and the whole region has a relaxed energy about it that suits a holiday weekend perfectly. Spain’s Costa del Sol and Balearics are in great shape at Easter too, with warm days and long evenings. The Canary Islands are a safe bet if you want guaranteed warmth, and the flight times are manageable for even a short break.
Turkey’s Belek coast comes into its own from late March onwards and offers exceptional value at Easter, particularly if you’re looking at all inclusive packages. Morocco is warm and dry by April, with Marrakech and Agadir both offering quality golf at very reasonable prices.

Making the Most of the Long Weekend
If you’re keeping it to a short break, the key is minimising wasted time. Direct flights to destinations with short transfer times mean you can be on the course the afternoon you arrive. The Algarve, Costa del Sol and Canary Islands all work well for this, with transfers from the airport to most golf resorts taking under an hour. Belek is similarly efficient, with Antalya airport around 40 minutes from the main resort area. If you plan it right, a Thursday to Monday trip can comfortably include three rounds of golf with time left over for a proper meal out and a lazy morning by the pool.

Frequently Asked Questions
As early as you can. Easter is one of the busiest booking periods of the year for golf travel, and the most popular resorts, courses and flight routes sell out well ahead of time. Ideally, you want to be booking by January or February to get the best availability and prices. If you leave it until March, you’ll still find options, but the choice will be narrower and you may pay more for flights. We can hold provisional bookings while you confirm numbers if you need a bit of time to get the group together.
Easter moves around between late March and mid April, and an early Easter can mean slightly cooler conditions in some destinations. If it falls in late March, the Canary Islands, Morocco and Dubai are the safest bets for guaranteed warmth. The Algarve and Spain are usually fine from late March onwards, but you might want a light layer for early mornings. Turkey is better suited to an April Easter when temperatures are more consistently warm. We’ll advise on the best destination based on where Easter falls that year so you’re not taking a gamble on the weather.
It can be slightly more than the quieter shoulder season weeks either side of it, mainly because of higher demand for flights and accommodation over the bank holiday. That said, it’s still generally cheaper than the peak summer months of June to August. Green fees tend to stay fairly stable through the spring, so the main price difference is on flights and hotels. Booking early is the best way to keep costs down, and we’ll always look for the most competitive package for your dates.
If you travel over the Good Friday to Easter Monday weekend, you’ve got four days without using any annual leave at all. That’s enough time for a short break with two or three rounds of golf. If you add a day or two either side, you can extend it to a full week with minimal leave used. It’s one of the reasons Easter is so popular for golf trips, particularly for people who don’t have much holiday allowance left or want to save their leave for later in the year.
