Key Information
Macdonald Portal is best suited to mid-to-high handicap golfers, society groups and anyone looking for an easy-going golf break without pretension. Course conditions are generally consistent year-round, with good drainage helping playability outside the summer months. The Championship Course provides the main test, while the Premier Course offers a more relaxed option.
Service is friendly and efficient, with staff used to hosting golf groups and weekend breaks. Tee times are well managed, and everything is close together on site, making it convenient for short stays. The resort has hosted regional and county-level events, reinforcing its reputation as a solid championship-standard venue rather than an elite, exclusive club.
