Couples Golf Holidays

Golf holidays for couples with great courses and time to enjoy together. Book a couples golf break with total ease.

Why Choose a Couples Golf Holiday?

A golf holiday as a couple is a different kind of trip. It’s not about squeezing in as many rounds as possible or keeping a group of twelve on the same page. It’s about enjoying good golf together, eating well in the evenings, and having a holiday that works for both of you. Whether you both play or only one of you does, a couples golf break gives you the best of both worlds. Great courses during the day, quality time together the rest of it, and none of the compromise that sometimes comes with bigger group trips.

The key to a good couples golf holiday is finding somewhere that offers more than just golf. A hotel with a decent spa, a pool, good restaurants nearby and maybe a beach or an interesting town within walking distance makes all the difference. That way, if one of you wants to play 18 while the other has a morning by the pool, everyone’s happy. And when you’re both done doing your own thing, you’ve got a great dinner and a nice setting to enjoy together. It’s a holiday first and a golf trip second, which is exactly how it should be when you’re travelling as a pair.

The resorts that work best for couples tend to be the ones with a bit of character. Boutique hotels with good food, adults only properties with a quieter atmosphere, or well located places where you can walk into town in the evening rather than being stuck on a resort complex. That’s not to say the bigger resorts don’t work. Plenty of them have excellent spa facilities and multiple restaurants that suit couples perfectly. It just depends on what kind of trip you’re after.

What Makes a Great Couples Golf Holiday

The little details matter more on a couples trip than they do on a group golf holiday. Room quality is a big one. You want somewhere with comfortable beds, a nice bathroom and ideally a balcony or terrace. Half board or bed and breakfast tends to work better than all inclusive for couples, because you’ll probably want to eat out at least a couple of evenings and explore local restaurants rather than eating in the hotel every night. Course selection matters too. If you’re both playing, choosing courses that are enjoyable for a range of handicaps keeps things fun rather than one of you struggling while the other breezes through. And if only one of you plays, it’s worth looking at courses close to the hotel so the golfer isn’t disappearing for the whole day.

Planning Your Trip Together

The best couples golf holidays are the ones where you’ve both had a say in what the trip looks like. Our team is used to putting together breaks that balance golf with everything else, and we’re happy to chat through options with both of you. Whether you want a romantic long weekend in the Algarve, a week splitting time between the courses and the beach in Spain, or something a bit more adventurous further afield, we can tailor the whole thing around what you both want. Just tell us your dates, your budget and how much golf you’re looking to fit in, and we’ll take it from there.

Frequently Asked Questions

That’s very common and it’s actually one of the things we help with most on couples bookings. We’ll find a hotel with plenty to do for the non golfer, whether that’s a spa, a pool, beach access or a good location for exploring. The golf can be arranged so it takes up a morning rather than a full day, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the holiday together. You only pay for the golf that’s actually being played, so the non golfer isn’t subsidising rounds they won’t use.

Yes. Many of the hotels we work with have on site spas, and we can often include treatments or spa access as part of your package. Excursions, restaurant reservations and other extras can usually be arranged too. Just let us know what you’re interested in and we’ll see what we can build in. It’s your trip, so we’re happy to add whatever makes it work for both of you.

It depends on what you’re after. The Algarve is a perennial favourite because it combines world class golf with beautiful coastline, great restaurants and a relaxed pace of life. Spain’s Costa del Sol works well too, particularly around Marbella where there’s plenty going on beyond the courses. For something with a bit more culture, Morocco offers a genuinely different experience with excellent golf and stunning surroundings. If you want luxury and winter sun, Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah are hard to beat. We can recommend specific hotels and areas based on what matters most to you as a couple.

Per person it can be slightly more, mainly because you don’t get the group discounts that come with larger bookings and you’re typically sharing a double room rather than a twin. That said, couples trips tend to be shorter and the overall spend is often lower than a full week with a big group. You also have more control over the budget because you’re only planning for two, which makes it easier to decide where to splash out and where to keep things simple.
