Carden Park is one of the North West’s best-known golf resorts, set in rolling Cheshire countryside a short drive from Chester. It’s home to two 18-hole courses that offer very different tests. The Nicklaus Course is the headline act, long, modern, and challenging, with plenty of water, bold bunkering, and wide views across the estate. It rewards confident ball striking and sensible course management.

The Cheshire Course is shorter and more traditional, with tighter fairways, mature trees, and a calmer feel. It’s still a proper test but more forgiving, making it ideal for mixed-ability groups or a second round during your stay.

The hotel itself is large but comfortable, with modern rooms, several bars and restaurants, and plenty of space to relax between rounds. Dining ranges from casual to more refined, and service is generally efficient and well-organised. The spa is a big draw too, especially for non-golfers or recovery days. Location-wise, Carden Park works well for UK travellers. Chester is nearby for shops, restaurants, and history, and the resort is easily reached from the Midlands, North West, and North Wales.
