East Sussex National is a large, purpose-built golf resort set in rolling Sussex countryside, around 20 minutes from the coast and under two hours from London. It’s home to two full-length championship courses, the East Course and the West Course, both laid out with plenty of space, wide fairways, and big greens.

The East Course is the sterner test and has hosted European Tour events, with long par fours, water hazards, and an open, exposed feel that brings wind into play. The West Course is slightly more forgiving and better suited to higher handicaps, but still challenging enough to stay interesting. Together, they make it a good option for groups with mixed abilities.

The hotel is modern and practical rather than flashy, with comfortable rooms, a decent-sized spa, gym, and indoor pool. Food is straightforward and reliable, with a main restaurant and bar that work well for post-round drinks or relaxed group dinners. Service is generally efficient and used to dealing with golf groups. You’re well placed for exploring the South Downs, Brighton, or the Sussex coast if you want to mix golf with a bit of sightseeing, but most visitors come for the golf-focused, no-fuss resort experience.
