Seafront Calm with Golf on the Doorstep

Reverence Mare sits on the promenade in Palmanova, on Mallorca’s southwest coast, directly opposite the town’s Blue Flag beach. It’s a modern four-star hotel spread across several connected buildings. It’s also adults-only (16 and over), so the atmosphere is noticeably quieter than at many of the family resorts along this stretch.

For golfers, the location works well, with a good spread of courses close by:

T Golf Calvià (the former Golf Poniente): roughly 3 km away
Real Golf de Bendinat and Santa Ponsa I: around 10–15 minutes by car
Arabella courses at Son Vida, Son Muntaner and Son Quint: about 20–25 minutes

The pools are the hotel’s main draw. There are six outdoor pools, most with swim-up access from ground-floor rooms. You’ll also find an indoor pool in the spa and a rooftop pool in the Sky Lounge, which is reserved for guests in Privilege rooms and suites. The Wellness & Spa is free for all guests, with a sauna, Turkish bath, whirlpool, hydrotherapy circuit and gym. It’s ideal for loosening up after a long day on the course. Massages cost extra.

Rooms are clean, contemporary and practical, with air conditioning, a balcony, rain shower, flat-screen TV and tea and coffee facilities. Many have sea views, but some are side sea view, so check the room type when you book.

Dining is mostly buffet-style, with Mediterranean and international dishes, and a pool bar serves snacks and drinks during the day. Evenings are relaxed, with live music on some nights. Pack accordingly, as there’s a smart dress code at dinner and men need long trousers. Palmanova’s bars and restaurants are a short stroll along the seafront, and Palma is around 20 minutes away by car.

Reverence Mare makes for an easy, low-hassle stay. Check-in is from 15:00, check-out is by 11:00, and reception is open 24 hours, which helps if your flight lands late.

Airport: Palma de Mallorca Airport is around 17 km away, usually a 20–25 minute transfer. A bus stop outside the hotel links to the airport and Palma, but with golf bags a private transfer or hire car is the more sensible option. On-site parking is available for a fee.
Beach: Just across the road.
Nearby: Palmanova’s centre is under a kilometre away, and livelier Magaluf is about 1.5 km along the coast. Puerto Portals marina, good for a smarter dinner out, is roughly 4 km away.
Palma: The city centre is about 15 km east, close enough for an evening in the old town.
Golf: T Golf Calvià is a five-minute drive, with Bendinat, Santa Ponsa and the Palma courses all within easy reach.

Rooms are modern and well kept, each with a balcony, and many open straight onto a pool. Free Wi-Fi covers the whole hotel, and the property is adapted for guests with reduced mobility.

The six outdoor pools, free spa and rooftop Sky Lounge give you proper downtime between rounds. The hotel also offers bike hire and a bike repair shop, so it’s used to active guests arriving with kit.

Why Stay at Reverence Mare?

Plenty of Palmanova hotels are close to golf. What sets Reverence Mare apart is the combination of an adults-only setting, a striking pool layout and a free spa, all right on the seafront. After a morning at Bendinat or Santa Ponsa, you can be back by the pool within 15 minutes, with no crowds of children and no need to book a spa slot just to use the sauna.

It suits couples where one person plays and the other doesn’t, and small groups of friends who want a relaxed base rather than an isolated golf resort. The beach, promenade and plenty of restaurants are on your doorstep, and Palma is close enough for a night out.

Guests rate it highly, with an average of around 8.7 out of 10 from nearly 1,800 reviews on a major booking platform. The swim-up rooms, the seafront position and the free spa are clear reasons why.

There are a few things worth knowing:

Rooftop pool: Only guests in Privilege rooms and suites can use it, so book one of those if it matters to you.
Dining: Meals are mainly buffet, which suits most people but can feel repetitive over a longer stay. Puerto Portals and the Palmanova seafront are good alternatives.
Crowds: The pools get busier in peak summer. Spring and autumn are the best times to visit, and they’re the best months for golf too.
Dress code: Don’t forget those long trousers for dinner.
