Rooms and arrival:

Rooms are modern and uncluttered, with neutral tones, a decent workspace and big windows.
Ask for a golf-view room, because the difference is worth it, especially at sunset.
Corner suites look over the pool on one side and the courses on the other.
Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is at midday.
It’s a smaller hotel, so arrival is quick and personal rather than a queue at a marble desk. If you’re on an early flight, let the hotel know your arrival time in advance.

Getting there and around:

Dubai International (DXB): around 30km, roughly 25–35 minutes by car depending on traffic
Al Maktoum (DWC): about 35km, around 30 minutes
Emirates Golf Club: a few minutes by car, and walkable in the cooler months
