Expect a straightforward, well-run stay. Reception is open 24 hours, so late arrivals from UK evening flights aren’t a problem. Guests regularly mention friendly, helpful staff who are quick to sort out restaurant tips, taxis and excursions.
Rooms feel bright and contemporary, with comfortable beds and good-quality bedding. Balconies are a genuine plus, particularly on the pool and sea-view sides. Rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels, and bed linen is changed every three days.
The setting is quiet and green, surrounded by pines, with the sea just beyond. Praia dos Bicos is a small, sandy cove reached directly from the hotel by a long flight of steps down the cliff. It’s well worth the climb, but if steps are an issue, there’s a step-free road route of around 1 km via Clube Praia da Oura.

This year it’s was time to try Portugal. What a fantastic trip we had, it was seamless from start to finish. A great hotel, lovely food and the service was second to none. The courses were amazing. All in all another fantastic golf tour. Now we need to decide on the venue for next year with the added bonus of knowing Phil will sort us out wherever we choose.

Why Stay at Aqua Pedra dos Bicos?
The appeal here is balance. You get a calm, grown-up hotel with sea views and a proper sense of space, yet you’re only a few minutes’ walk from one of Albufeira’s liveliest stretches of bars and restaurants. That makes it a good fit for golfers who want a quiet base during the day and a choice of places to eat at night without relying on taxis.
The design is modern and uncluttered, and the adults-friendly policy keeps the pools and public areas relaxed. The rooftop bar is where most guests end up in the evening, and for good reason: it’s a great spot for a drink after a round, with views over the pines and the coast. Having a beach right below the hotel is a real bonus too, especially for non-golfing partners.
Guest feedback is consistently strong on the staff, the comfort of the rooms, the views from the balconies and the breakfast. Plenty of people also praise the location for being close to everything without feeling hectic.
