Championship Golf in Stylish Vilamoura

Victoria Golf Resort & Spa sits on the quieter golf side of Vilamoura, around 25 to 30 minutes from Faro Airport and a short drive from the marina and beach, so it feels relaxed without being cut off from the main resort. The setting is one of its biggest strengths, with the hotel positioned alongside the championship course long associated with the Victoria layout in Vilamoura, known for its broad fairways, exposed feel and tournament pedigree. It has hosted the Portugal Masters for many years, which tells you plenty about the standard of golf here.

The golf is more open than tree-lined, but it is far from easy. Water hazards, strategic bunkering and the sheer scale of the course provide a strong test for confident players, while multiple tee options make it manageable for mixed groups too. Off the course, the hotel offers spacious rooms and suites, a well-finished spa, several pools, kids’ facilities and a choice of restaurants and bars. Vilamoura Marina, Falésia Beach and the wider collection of Algarve courses are also nearby.

Key Information

Expect a modern, upscale golf hotel rather than a traditional Portuguese resort. Service and facilities are polished, the rooms are generous, and the golf set-up is one of the main draws. The championship course beside the hotel is the headline act, but Vilamoura as a whole gives you access to a wider cluster of well-known layouts, so it is easy to build a multi-round trip. The course itself is usually best suited to mid-to-low handicappers and confident holiday golfers, mainly because of its length, open exposure, and strategic water features.

The overall feel is spacious, smart, and convenient, with the Portugal Masters history giving the place a bit more standing than your average Algarve hotel.

Second year booking a trip

Second year booking a trip with with Dan at Golf Travel Centre. Really straightforward and happy with the price. We also had a couple of last minute changes on our first trip due to a flight issue and Dan sorted the transfers and managed to get the times amended at the last minute so overall a great service.
