Terras da Comporta Golf Course is part of the emerging Comporta golf region, around an hour south of Lisbon, an area known for unspoiled beaches, pine forests and a relaxed coastal atmosphere. The Torre Course, designed by Masters champion Sergio Garcia, is the standout layout here and has quickly gained attention as one of Portugal’s most exciting modern courses.

The course sits on naturally sandy terrain, allowing firm, fast-playing conditions that feel closer to links golf than to typical parkland resort layouts. Fairways run through open pine woodland and natural dunes, with wide landing areas encouraging aggressive driving while cleverly positioned bunkers and run-offs reward thoughtful strategy.

Garcia’s design focuses on variety. Holes move in different directions across the property, meaning the coastal wind becomes a constant factor. There’s a good mix of short par fours, longer two-shotters and reachable par fives, keeping the round interesting from start to finish. Several greens are large and subtly contoured, offering multiple pin positions and rewarding good approach play. Facilities are modern but understated, fitting the laid-back style of the Comporta region. Practice areas are excellent and course conditioning is typically very strong thanks to the sandy soil. As the area develops into a new golf destination, Terras da Comporta is quickly becoming one of the courses players most want to experience when visiting Portugal.
