Mazagan feels purpose-built for golf breaks where everything is on site. The resort stretches along several kilometres of Atlantic coastline near El Jadida, so you get big skies, sea air and space rather than a built-up setting.

The golf course, designed by Gary Player, runs alongside the ocean in a links-style layout. Fairways are generous off the tee, but the wind is the real defence, especially on exposed holes closer to the shoreline. Large greens, rolling terrain and sandy waste areas give it a classic seaside feel, and it’s playable for a range of handicaps while still being interesting for stronger golfers when conditions toughen up.

Accommodation is in hotel-style rooms and suites, modern and comfortable, many with sea or pool views. Dining is a strong point, with multiple restaurants covering Moroccan, Mediterranean and international options, plus bars spread around the resort. There’s also a spa, large pool areas, a casino, beach activities and plenty for non-golfers, so it works well for mixed groups.

Key Information

Expect a well-maintained resort course where wind and firmness shape the challenge more than length. Conditioning is generally good, with smooth greens and tidy fairways, and tee times are easy to combine with resort life. Service is professional and used to international golf travellers.

There’s one course on site, so it’s about quality over quantity, and the overall feel is relaxed, spacious and easy, with everything close at hand.
