Key Information

Parkland Golf Close to Belfast

Hilton Belfast Templepatrick sits on the edge of Templepatrick village, around 20 minutes from Belfast city centre and only a short drive from the airport, which makes travel simple. The setting feels properly countryside, with rolling ground, mature trees and open views, rather than a built-up resort environment.

Golf centres on the 18-hole parkland course set across the Castle Upton Estate. It’s a good test without being punishing, with tree-lined fairways, gentle elevation changes and several holes where water comes into play. The layout rewards sensible positioning over power, and it works well for mixed-ability groups. Conditioning is usually strong, and the course has a reputation locally as one of the better inland options in the Belfast area. It has also hosted professional and regional events, which adds to its credibility.

The hotel is modern and comfortable, with spacious rooms, a bar and restaurant that suit relaxed group meals, and a LivingWell health club with pool, gym, sauna and steam room. You get the balance of golf, leisure and easy access to the city, without the feel of a large, busy resort.

Key Information

Expect a friendly, well-run club atmosphere and a course that’s enjoyable rather than extreme. Fairways are generally generous but tree-lined, with greens that reward a tidy short game. Service in the hotel is efficient and used to golf groups, and everything is close together, so it’s an easy place to base yourself for a few days.

One 18-hole course is on site, with other strong Belfast-area courses within driving distance.

All in all another fantastic golf tour. Now we need to decide on the venue for next year with the added bonus of knowing Phil will sort us out wherever we choose.
