Atlantis, The Palm sits at the top of the crescent on Palm Jumeirah, around 40 minutes from Dubai International Airport. Opened in 2008 as the first hotel on the Palm, it’s a big, lively resort with the Arabian Gulf on one side and the Dubai Marina skyline on the other, making it particularly appealing for golfers travelling with family or friends who want plenty to do off the course.

The hotel itself is built around entertainment rather than quiet. Rooms are spacious and sea-themed, most with balconies facing the Gulf or the Palm and skyline, and Imperial Club rooms add lounge access with breakfast and evening drinks. Every stay includes daily access to Aquaventure World and the Lost World Aquarium, alongside a private beach, pools, the ShuiQi spa and over 30 restaurants and bars, including Nobu, Hakkasan and Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen.

Service is professional and well drilled for the scale of the place, efficient rather than intimate. While the hotel doesn’t have the calm of Dubai‘s golf-course hotels, that’s not what it’s for, it trades peace and quiet for choice and energy. Emirates Golf Club, Jumeirah Golf Estates and Dubai Hills are all easy drives from the Palm, so book early tee times to beat the traffic and you’ll be back on the beach by mid-afternoon.
