Fairmont St Andrews sits on a clifftop just outside the town, around a 10-minute drive from the Old Course and St Andrews centre. The setting feels open and dramatic, with wide coastal views over St Andrews Bay, yet you’re close enough to dip into town for restaurants, pubs, and the usual golfing landmarks.

Golf is the main focus, with two championship courses on site: The Torrance and The Kittocks. Both make the most of the coastal landscape, with rolling fairways, sea views, and a proper championship feel without being punishing for most club golfers. It’s a strong option if you want serious golf but prefer a modern resort base rather than staying in town.

Expect a polished, well-run resort with consistently strong course conditioning and a professional but relaxed atmosphere. Both courses are maintained to a high standard, with wide fairways in places but enough wind, bunkering, and shaping to keep you honest.

Service in the hotel is efficient and used to golf groups. With two courses on site and St Andrews minutes away, it’s a very convenient base.

This year it’s was time to try Portugal...

This year it’s was time to try Portugal. What a fantastic trip we had, it was seamless from start to finish. A great hotel, lovely food and the service was second to none. The courses were amazing. All in all another fantastic golf tour. Now we need to decide on the venue for next year with the added bonus of knowing Phil will sort us out wherever we choose.
