1. Golf de Ibiza Golf Course

At the south of the island in a rugged valley lies Golf Ibiza near Roca Llisa – the only golf club on the island. Take in the lush scenery all-year round on the two idyllic Ibiza golf courses: the ‘Golf de Ibiza’ or the ‘Roca Llisa’. Just 7km from the capital of Ibiza, the renovated Golf Ibiza stretches across the coast against a breathtaking backdrop of mountains and valleys, offering a peaceful retreat to play and socialise beyond the game.

Perfect for challenge-seekers, the ‘Golf de Ibiza’ golf course is a fast-paced 18-hole, 72 par course with large greens, naturally rough terrain, and constant sea breeze. The 18-hole course features spectacular narrow lanes, tricky slopes and a pronounced incline that demands a high level of tactical skill.

Each of the 18 holes have been assigned a name, which refers to its aesthetic or outstanding geographic quality, like the “Bermuda” turf that is reflective of its terrain. A round of four and a half hours, with holes 16 and 18 most likely to exasperate players, ‘Golf de Ibiza’ is a real challenge for enthusiastic golfers of all levels.

Once you’ve soaked up the unique surroundings of the Ibizan countryside, you’ll be welcomed by the Hoyo 19 restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Mediterranean cuisine.

If you’re looking for an Ibiza golf resort, book yourself into the Invisa Hotel La Cala where you can enjoy excellent service throughout your stay. This elegant hotel is near the Santa Eulalia Beach and is perfect for couples seeking a relaxing escape. With plenty to discover by day and night, and 2 rounds of golf included, this adult’s only resort is a superb destination for those looking for R&R.

2. Roca Llisa Golf Course

Located half-way between Ibiza and Santa Eulalia del Rio, Roca Llisa Golf Course is an enclave of luxury and peace away from the more vibrant lifestyle of other areas of the island. The 9-hole course, which originally opened in 1972, is attractive to beginners and experts alike thanks to its flat and open green. Its fantastic characteristics and the morphology of the terrain contribute to a very pleasant two-hour round.

Roca Llisa Golf Course is a golfer’s paradise, designed to pique the interest of both competitive and recreational players. Most of the holes are protected by strategically placed bunkers, surrounded by trees in the first 4 holes and lakes in the last 5 holes. Beginners will experience an agile game with a clean pace, and for those more experienced players, the well-placed bunkers offer an attractive challenge.

Stay at the Amare Beach Hotel in San Antonio Bay and enjoy spectacular views of Bou Cove’s waterfront. This adult only resort offers swimming pools, direct access to the pier, a rooftop terrace with a bar, and a Michelin star restaurant. Only 13km from Ibiza airport and 4km from San Antonio, Amare Beach Hotel is perfect for those seeking a thriving nightlife.

3. Son Muntaner Golf Course

Venture across the Mediterranean Sea via a short ferry ride to the largest Balearic Island, Mallorca. Golf Son Mutaner is situated near Palma, Mallorca’s capital city, and is considered one of the most stunning courses on the island – it even boasts the oldest olive tree in Mallorca, ‘Na Capitana’, which is said to be over 1,000 years old.

Designed by Kurt Rossknecht, Son Muntaner Golf Course is well-known for the Arabella Golf Academy, as well as having the largest putting green in Mallorca and an illuminated driving range. The 18-hole, 72 par Spanish golf course is surrounded by marvellous Mediterranean backdrops, so you can take in the glorious scenery while challenging your golf capabilities.

Son Muntaner’s technical design offers long and spacious fairways, providing challenges from the offset. From the very 1st hole, players are confronted by tricky approach shots over water to bunkered greens and a slithering lake stretches the length of the 2nd and 3rd holes, so accuracy and precision are key.

Despite being a relatively flat course, Son Muntaner is one for the more experienced player, with a recommended handicap of 36.

4. Son Quint Golf Course

Golf Son Quint is the youngest golf course in Mallorca, having only opened its doors in 2007. This golf course is a pleasure for both beginners and advanced players thanks to its long and open green.

Experience an extensive game that offers something special to all players. The 8th hole is the highest point on the golf course and as players tee-off, they will find themselves directly facing Palma Cathedral.

Enjoy a variety of play with four different tee-box positions and well-placed bunkers will challenge even the most competitive of players. When players reach holes 8 and 17, they are treated to a breathtakingly beautiful view of Palma, but first players must face the par-3 12th hole where they will have to overcome a stunning frontal lake. For those with a strong drive, holes 2 and 17 are particularly enjoyable.

5. Maioris Golf Course

Created by Dieter Cabus in 2006, Maioris Golf Course is located 15 minutes west of Palma de Mallorca on the south coast. The par-72 championship golf course has been carved between carob, olive, and pine trees in an authentic Mallorcan landscape – it has some of the most generous fairways on the island. Featuring two island greens and four lakes, players can enjoy a challenge that puts their skills to the test.

Maioris Golf Course starts with a gentle par-4 protected by three sand traps – consider it a warm-up for the sterner challenges ahead! Hole 4 is the course’s first par-5, which features an island green. The margin for error is slim, but most players will be able to reach this 483m hole in three.

Although the course has been designed for golfers of all abilities, Maioris Golf Course is perfect for players looking to push their skills to the limit. To tackle this undulating course, a recommended handicap of 36 for gents and 44 for ladies is preferable.
