Since 1934, it has played host to the annual Masters Tournament, one of the four major championships in men's professional golf, and the only major played each year at the same course.
It was the number one ranked course in Golf Digest's 2009 list of America's 100 greatest courses and is currently the number ten ranked course on Golfweek Magazine's 2011 list of best classic courses in the United States, in terms of course architecture
The Masters is played by a small field, chosen by strict criteria, so you’ll only see the best of the best take to the famous fairways. Throughout the storied history of the Masters Tournament (it began in 1934); 49 champions have won the coveted Green Jacket. Adam Scott won in 2013, Bubba Watson 2012/2014, Jordan Spieth in 2015 and Danny Willett came over the top of Spieth dramatically in 2016. Last years event was dominated early by Charlie Hoffman who was up 4 shots at -7 after the first round. His game didn’t hold for the week with Sergio Garcia ending triumphant winning his first Major and the famous Green Jacket. Many other legends paved the way for our modern heroes including Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods all etching their names into the Masters history books. The US Masters has a special place in the hearts of golfing greats and fans alike. Average April temperatures range from highs of 80 degrees to lows of 50 degrees. Hats, cool clothing, and sunscreen should be worn on bright, sunny days.
Facilities for the Physically Impaired
Facilities for the physically impaired are provided. For the safety of all concerned, it is suggested that those using wheelchairs or similar transport use the hard surfaced roads and flat observation areas as much as possible. The grass is often damp and becomes very slippery on sloped areas. As a reminder, those accompanying a physically impaired individual must also have proper credentials.
Mobile phones and other electronic devices are strictly prohibited on the grounds at all times. Cameras are strictly prohibited on Tournament days. Violation of these policies will subject the ticket holder to removal from the grounds and the ticket purchaser to the permanent loss of credential(s).
*Personal bags/belt bags/purses no larger than 10"W x 5"H x 5"D are allowed.
**Cameras are allowed on Practice Rounds days - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Please observe all scoreboards/message boards for the WEATHER WARNING sign shown to the right. This sign will appear in advance of inclement weather moving into the area if Augusta National becomes aware of such weather. When the sign appears, you are advised to take precautions even before play is suspended. Suspension of play will be signaled by the sounding of an air horn or similar alert. You should seek shelter immediately upon hearing the alert. During periods of inclement weather, you should avoid the following:
For player safety and protection, there is a NO AUTOGRAPH POLICY enforced on the golf courses for the practice and Tournament days. Autograph seeking is allowed only on the parking lot side of the Clubhouse.
Appropriate clothing and shoes should be worn at all times.
For your personal safety, we ask that you exercise due care at all times. Also, please be reminded that under wet conditions the grounds may become slippery and appropriate precautions should be observed.
No animals or pets are allowed onto the grounds except animals necessary and specially trained to assist or guide the physically impaired.
